Carole Nash Motorcycle Live: See the CBR600F & Crossrunner

The new Crossrunner isn’t just one of the biggest draws at the Honda stand (stand G220), but of the whole show too. The Crossrunner is described by Honda as a blend of naked bike fun with the style and practicality of an adventure bike. But there are no off-road pretensions here, it’s closely based on the existing VFR800, using both the frame and engine, so it’s very much a road focussed machine.

Honda says its research shows riders like the adventure style but don’t want the compromised stability caused by the long travel suspension and dual purpose tyres, so the Crossrunner gets proper road tyres and conventional suspension.   

Plus don’t forget about the new CBR600F – after ditching it in favour of the CBR600RR supersports machine, Honda has revived it again in the form of a Hornet-based bike with some knockout new bodywork. The new CBR600F, available in Spring next year, makes 101bhp from its 599cc engine up at 12,000rpm, and 47lb.ft of torque at 10,500rpm.  

It’s aimed at riders who mourn the passing of the old 600F, which was such a hit with those after a sporting middleweight that combined strong performance with everyday practicality.
