This magnificent bike is number 17 of just 150 examples produced world wide. This example is number 17 of 150 produced worldwide. It is a totally unique bike by virtue of the fact that it remains un-registered and is the only one on the planet painted in the Troy Corser race colours. Originally supplied by Steve Bastable in Leicester to a customer in Ireland. The bike was used for “unofficial” ride outs in the customers locality before being locked away for many years inside the customers’ house. The bike is fitted with brand new OEM Aprilia gold 5 spoke wheels and also uniquely has the original cable tie on the handlebars that the original factory tag was fastened to when it left the factory. The bike is also supplied with a paddock stand and handbook pack with handbook and two keys. It then resurfaced and was taken to AP Workshops who are the leading experts with Aprilia and went through an exhaustive recommissioning process and full authentication to confirm the bikes originality. There are two videos on You tube regarding this actual bike. Back when World Superbike was king the world was introduced to a handful of race-ready sports bikes with Honda’s RC30 and Yamaha’s FZR750R OW01 being the headline acts along with Ducati’s SP and SPS ranges. Aprilia entered the market place with their RSV1000R SP and put them straight into the collectors thoughts. Just 150 Aprilia RSV1000R SP's were built worldwide in early 2000. Launched just 18 months after the first RSVs, the SP might have looked like the RSV but it was almost an entirely different bike. This bike would be a fantastic addition to any serious collection.
