All books/documents/keys present The 1198, and all of it’s variants, was the last of an era of bikes that had the Ducati trademark trellis framework and a belt driven motor, these two things alone had characterised Ducati superbikes since 1986, and disappeared with the introduction of the 1199 Panigale It was also the first of a new breed in that it offered electronic hardware such as DTC – Ducati Traction Control for the first time As with all Ducati Superbikes, both prior to, and following the 1198, the ‘S’ model offered an appreciably higher specification than the base bike, with the use of expensive branded components from Ohlins, Brembo and Marchesini, amongst others As such, the 1198S specification included a trellis frame in silver constructed from ALS450 alloy, fully adjustable 43mm dia.
