Garry McCoy and SC Triumph forced out of Nurburgring race

Garry McCoy and his SC Triumph World Supersport team have been forced to withdraw from the German round of the championship at the Nurburgring this weekend due to a shortage of parts.

After a promising start to the season which earned McCoy an impressive sixth place at Phillip Island, finishing just 1.2 seconds off the win the team have been plagued by reliability problems.

The problems have not only become the limiting factor in performance but also meant that the team’s riders have had reduced track time to improve the set-up of the bike.

Team Boss Stefano Caracchi said: “Following the tests carried out in the last few days, which showed a considerable improvement in the performance and the reliability of our 675 Daytona machine, an unexpected delay in the supply of several essential components by one of our suppliers has forced us to postpone our next appearance to Misano.

“We are very disappointed to miss this appointment with Triumph’s German fans, but it’s great comfort for us to know that we will be present with a very competitive machine at Misano”.
