New Yamaha dealer’s MotoGP reps

The owners of these two Yamaha R1’s were like children in a candy store – picking all the trick parts available – when they visited Surrey’s newest Yamaha dealer Carbontek.

The Tech 3 Colin Edward’s rep, £1150 paint and sticker job is by Racepaint UK, and crammed with accessories and upgraded parts.

The standard under seat exhaust has been replaced by a Graves stubby system, costing £1350, it has a Power Commander 5 with Carbontek custom map, Venhill stainless brake lines and Gilles VCR rearsets in black and gold.

It also has custom carbon number plate bracket, flush LED front indicators and ASV short black unbreakable brake and clutch levers among other things.

But as on the track the Valentino Rossi factory R1 rep knocks the Edward’s rep socks off.

It has full Rossi paint job – with not a sticker in sight – Zero Gravity clear double bubble screen, Akrapovic carbon fibre slip on exhaust with removable baffles and cat eliminatory pipe, and a Power Commander 5.

It also has Gilles VCR rearsets, Frentubo carbon fibre brake lines, Carbontek, carbon full length frame protectors, swing arm and hugger with chain guard.

Carbontek carbon fibre engine armour will be fitted next week – consisting of five layers of carbon fibre and one layer of Kevlar.

Carbontek is Surrey’s newest Yamaha dealer, and it will build any bike to any spec including brake upgrades, engine mods, suspension and custom paintwork.

The dealership is based in Whyteleafe, Surrey.
