As reported in this week's edition of MCN, Yamaha are all set to announce a new, 'Yard Built' custom version of their well-received MT-07 at the Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz this weekend, and today we've discovered our clearest glimpse yet of the Shinya Kimura designed machine.
In a YouTube video posted early to Yamaha Europe's Facebook page, the trademarked, minimalist, hand-beaten aluminium of Kimura-Sans 'Zero' style can be clearly seen.
With an introduction to the video that alludes to Shinya as a young boy, fascinated by aeroplanes, we also see him taking inspiration from a green and silver XS650. Previous Yard Built collaborations have influenced several upcoming versions of Yamaha production bikes - with both Deus and Wrenchmonkees inspiring the new XJ1300 model, alongside Marcus Walz's XV950 Cafe Racer proving the blueprint for the new 'racer' variation of the popular cruiser.
It is believed that this new 'Faster Sons' custom build will lead the way for a similar MT-07 offering.
