Bike4life gets set for lift-off | Tickets go on sale for Midlands Air Ambulance charity festival

Places are now on sale for the twelfth Bike4Life Ride Out & Festival, with more than 3500 bikers expected to attend in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

The airborne lifesavers have completed some 74,623 missions since they began in 1991, receiving no funding from central Government. This is despite it costing between £13-£14million a year to maintain their three helicopters and fleet of critical care cars.

“Each year, the motorbiking community comes out in full support of our charity by taking part in our Bike4Life Ride Out,” head of fundraising and engagement, Emma Wood, said. “Their presence on the roads on the day not only helps to raise awareness of our service and biker safety, the riders taking part are also raising vital funds to help save lives across the region.”

More than 600 tickets sold in the first 24 hours, with the April 28 event hosting a mass rideout culminating in a family friendly festival at Weston Park in Shifnal, Shropshire.

“We are urging anyone who wants to take part to purchase their tickets as soon as they can,” she continued. “Ticket numbers are limited to make sure we keep our riders safe, so it’s best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

“We also have tickets available for our festival which this year is being held at the well-known venue, Weston Park. It is a great day out for all ages – and you don’t have to be a bike enthusiast to enjoy it.”
