Boston Bike Night is making a comeback for 2024. The immensely popular motorcyclist meet up returns to its Lincolnshire home on Thursday, 4 July with the action kicking off at 4pm.

“I’m delighted that a new team have come forward to save this popular event which has put our town on the map for many years,” Boston Borough Councillor, Dale Broughton said. “I’m looking forward to working with them to ensure that this event remains sustainable and continues to develop throughout its new reign.”

Thousands of bikers had previously turned up to the annual event to admire the machinery on show and enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded enthusiasts, until, after 27 years of history, the event was cancelled in November of last year.

Its past coordinators cited an “increasing burden of regulation” as the reason for its demise, with former organiser, David Tuley previously stating that rules and regulations had led to the event making a loss in 2023.

Kit retailers Sportsbikeshop, among several other local businesses have stepped up to the plate to support Mental Riders – the event’s new organisers – a clothing brand who aim to “promote and support mental health awareness and conversation.”

Co-founder of the company, Callum Spence told MCN: “Mental health is so important but there’s so much stigma attached to it, we hope this event will go some way to breaking that down.”

Spence went on to note: “Bike Night has been going on for so long and means so much to people in the community and beyond. There’s even someone who comes every year from Holland.”

The team confirmed that everything will be run in the same spirit as its former incarnations, with only minor changes made to make it more accessible for everyone.

A portion of the profit raised has been pledged between two charities, the Air Ambulance and Mental Health Motorbike – a free to access support system aiming to provide mental health aid to the biking community.
