BSB: O'Halloran eyes third in championship

Jason O’Halloran might be out of the MCE British Superbike title chase but the Aussie hasn’t given up on securing a rostrum finish in the overall 2017 standings.

O’Halloran became the first title fighter to be ruled out of this year’s title fight after a disastrous weekend at Assen, but he’s determined to finish as high up the order as he can to end the year on a high.

“I can’t wait to get going this weekend; it’s the last race of the year so it’s important for us to finish on a good one,” he said.

“We’re sixth in the championship and there’s 75 points up for grabs, so if we have a solid weekend and maybe others don’t, we could move up into third or fourth place, so that’s the main target for the weekend, move up the championship order and finish the season on a positive note. The last few rounds have been frustrating but this weekend we’ll be back to 100% and that we can be in a strong place.

“I always enjoy racing at Brands, the last round is always exciting with fans getting into it and all the riders fighting for the last few points. So it’s best foot forward and I’m sure we can finish on a high with three good race results.”
