BSB: Mossey: 'How can we say we've not done a good job?'

Luke Mossey was able to look on the bright side despite missing out on a spot in the 2017 title fighters’ Showdown after his return from injury this weekend.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki star, who led the championship earlier this year, broke his back in four places in a horror crash at Thruxton last month forcing him to miss to rounds.

While he was still very much in contention for a Showdown spot this weekend, the 24-year-old struggled with his back in the dry and crashed out in the wet to lose out on the final Showdown place to fellow young gun Jake Dixon.

“We’ve done everything right this year,” Mossey told MCN. “We’ve just missed out on the Showdown despite missing two rounds with a broken back. How can we say we’ve not done a good job? Everyone else had more pressure on them this weekend, I’ve still got a broken back in four places!

“We’ve got nothing to lose now, so we’ll come back and give it a bloody good go at trying to win some more races by the end of the year before starting again next year afresh. I’m glad this day is done, we know where we stand and there’s no pressure anymore now we’re not fighting for the title. We will end this season on a high.”
