Perfect tyre for a BMW K1200RS

1 of 1

Q. I’ve come to the end of the road with the current tyres on my trusty ’01 BMW K1200RS (Front Avon Azaro 120/70ZR17, Rear Avon ‘Storm’ AV56 180/55ZR17) and need a little guidance.

My annual mileage is about 6000 miles, however I’ve now insured my bike for ‘Business Use’ and expect to add on many more miles (I do approximately 16,000 business miles a year). Motorcycle tyres for sale. My wife loves riding pillion, which tends to be days out along the coast of Norfolk (great fish & chips!).

I’m happy with the current tyres, however the motorcycle press is full of newly ‘developed’ tyres for all styles of riding so I think I’m missing out on something.

I’m looking for the ultimate (isn’t everybody?), a tyre that’s going to last serious miles, keep me upright and lean when I intend to in all weathers, that won’t square off easily due to pillion and motorway miles.

A. Those Azaros are pretty fine tyres, but the latest generation of sport touring tyres sound like just the job for you: Dunlop Roadsmart, Michelin Pilot Road 3, Bridgestone BT-023, Pirelli Angel STs or Metzeler Roadtec Z8.

They all worked hard to up the mileage, while keeping performance consistent through the life of the tyre.
