A new motorcycle themed film called The Bikeriders is set to hit UK cinemas on June 21, starring Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, Norman Reedus, and Austin Butler.

Written and directed by Jeff Nichols, the biking flick is based on the 1968 Danny Lyon novel under the same name.

“I found Danny Lyon’s book 20 years ago, and it has been an obsession in my life ever since,” said Nicholas. “It was, quite simply, the coolest book I’d ever come across. My hope was to make a film that captured this feeling, and more importantly, transferred it to a larger filmgoing audience.”

The gangland drama follows fictional sixties motorcycle club, The Vandals, as it descends from brotherhood of biking enthusiasts to underworld criminal organisation.

Over the course of a decade, the club evolves from a gathering place for individualistic antiheroes into a more sinister criminal enterprise, with Kathy (Jodie Comer) and Johnny (Tom Hardy), soon finding themselves at odds over their relationship to Benny (Austin Butler).

Following outsider infiltration, the Vandals become involved in drug trafficking, gambling, murder, and open gang warfare, driving the club, and its members, toward oblivion.
