Bumper bike sales | Industry data reveals steady rise in monthly motorcycle registrations versus 2023

Bike sales are on the up both on a monthly and yearly basis when compared with 2023. Motorcycle Industry Association data, released at the beginning of June, shows positive results for both petrol and electric bikes.

As it stands, total registrations across May 2024 sit at 11,172 bikes, which represents a 2.6% rise over 2023. In year-to-date figures, registrations have climbed to 49,084 – a 0.7% improvement.

“It is very encouraging to see the market continue to perform strongly in spite of not having a particularly good spring,” said MCIA CEO Tony Campbell.

“The next Government have the unparalleled opportunity to positively address the need for our sector’s involvement in future transport plans and to enable the acceleration to net zero.”

The numbers also showed the most popular bikes from across May 2024. Out front is the Triumph Speed 400 at 353 sales, with the second largest coming from the Honda PCX125 scooter at 338.
