Radical Victory concept

1 of 1

It seems that American bike firm Victory is thinking along the same lines as the Japanese with its new concept bearing striking similarities to those revealed by Honda and Yamaha at the Tokyo show.

Victory’s Vision 800 was unveiled at the Long Beach motorcycle show in the States and is a radically departure from the custom style bikes that it usually produces.

The Vision uses an 800cc parallel twin automatic engine pulled from a Polaris quad – Polaris owns the Victory brand – with a shaft driven rear. Because of the automatic transmission it has no foot controls or clutch with just scooter-style front and rear brake leavers on the bars.

Despite the radical styling it looks as though the seating position is very much tradition Victory, putting the rider with feat forwards and hands apart.

It doesn’t look as though the firm is going to put the new bike in to production but it does reveal that it is looking at new routes, rather than just battling Harley head on.
