Hislop quickest in Rockingham practice

Steve Hislop went quickest in today’s free practice at Rockingham. The MonsterMob rider time of 1:10.47 was half a second quicker than Suzuki’s John Reynolds ahead of Sunday’s MCN-backed BSB round.

There have been a number of changes to the Northamptonshire circuit, in response to rider criticism last year. But as Steve Hislop told MCN, not all of them have found favour, he said: ” It’s so tight it’s like racing around a Tesco carpark. The first chican still isn’t right. It’s too tight – you can’t see the turn in or where to turn out. It tightens up and forces you up the banking. It’s not very popular.

” But they have changed turn two – it’s much better now they’ve widened it. ”

IFC Racing’s Sean Emmett, who went fourth fastest, told MCN last week he’s so happy with his set-up he’s left it unchanged all season. But that’s all changed at Rockingham. He said: ” I can’t believe there’s not one fast corner here. I’m only using four gears and I can’t get it right. ”
