Kiyo tops Croft practice

Ryuichi Kiyonari has beaten his HM Plant Honda team-mate Michael Rutter to the fastest time on the first day of practice for the Croft round of the British Superbike championship.

Kiyonari set the time in the second practice session of the day taking a best lap of 1:21.034, 0.088 seconds ahead of Rutter.

Honda UK rider Karl Harris made it a top three for Honda, finishing 0.662 seconds down on Kiyonari, followed by Dean Thomas on the Hawk Kawasaki.

Gregorio Lavilla topped the provisional second row of the grid followed by Tommy Hill, John Reynolds and Leon Haslam.

Tom Sykes topped the second session for the Supersport bikes beating Craig Jones by 0.117 seconds. Jones was followed by Stuart Easton and Cal Crutchlow.
