Ellison looking forward to Snetterton outing

MCE British Superbike championship leader James Ellison says he’s looking forward to the chance to test next week at Snetterton, ahead of the next round of the series.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider had a disappointing round last time out at Oulton Park by his standards, and says he’s looking for the chance to make amends.

“We have had a good start to the season although it hasn’t been perfect. Oulton Park wasn’t as good for us as we had hoped as we didn’t find a good setting and although we were still on lap record pace, it put us sixth in the first race. A small change put us in a better position for race two and that shows you how close this championship is – the smallest tweak made the difference. We have to try and keep ahead of the game because you can’t sit back – you have to keep moving forward and improve and that is both from me as a rider and the bike.

“One of the main things we struggled with last year was the run onto the Bentley Straight and we will focus on that for the test, although we know that the bike has already improved on last year. I am feeling really confident that we can have a good test and be ready for the event.”
