Dovizioso fastest at Le Mans

Andrea Dovizioso bounced back from a disappointing Spanish Grand Prix to set the fastest time in the opening practice session at Le Mans. The Italian, who dropped 15 points behind Valentino Rossi in the championship standings after Jerez, was a quarter of a second faster than Marc Marquez with Jorge Lorenzo third fastest. On his first exit of the day Marquez suffered a mechanical failure on the start/finish straight and needed to be pushed down pitlane.

Cal Crutchlow had another solid showing with the Englishman fourth fastest and only three hundredths of a second slower than Marquez with Scott Redding showing improvements with the sixth fastest time.
