Suzuki GSX-S1000GX

Tested by Michael Guy, MCN Sports Editor

Having spent the last decade primarily riding adventure bikes I wanted to mix things up this year, and from the moment I first saw the new Suzuki GSX-S1000GX I felt it could be the bike for me. Admittedly I haven’t strayed that far from an adventure bike in terms of practicality, usability, and comfort.

On one side I’ve lost all ability to ride off road, which is something I really enjoy doing, but on the flip side I have in theory got a bike that’s road focused and without compromise. It also comes with the bonus of being powered by the legendary GSX-R1000 K5 motor as well as having road sized wheels and a broad range of tyre choices.

Plans for the year ahead are taking shape with a trip to Scafell Pike in the Lake District before riding down to the opening round of BSB at Navarra in Northern Spain.

First impressions are good, so I think it’s going to handle everything I’ve planned (and more) with ease.
