Britain’s favourite bike is the latest Honda Fireblade, according to RiDER Power 2008 – Britain’s biggest biking survey.

The ’08 Blade socred a 92.10% satisfaction rating, showing that the people who bought it are delighted with its accessible power, sharp handling and quality.

More than 7000 people voted in the survey, which gets owners to rate their bike on everything from its engine and handling to its mirrors and pillion comfort.

One owner, Iain Bevan, said: “My new Fireblade makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck every time I go out on it. It’s not just an awesome looking bike but it’s so easy to ride and fills you full of confidence. Everyone I speak to who has ridden the ’08 Fireblade loves it.”

The survey is traditonally topped by tourers and sports tourers, but this year the all-round brilliance of the Blade knocked BMW off the top spot.

The R1200RT came second and the K1200S third, followed by the KTM 950 Supermoto and Honda Pan European.
