***OTW SPECIAL SAVE £500.00 WAS £3,999.00 NOW ONLY £3,499.00***A GREAT CLASSIC***Registered in the UK in August 2017 on a '03 plate. Anyone who was old enough to ride a motorcycle in the 1970s will remember the fanfare that greeted the launch of the original Yamaha SR models. The single cylinder SR400 was announced in 1978. With relaxed torque output, slim and agile chassis design and classic styling, the Japanese-market SR400 became a firm favorite with enthusiasts who were looking for a simple machine & the spirit of motorcycling. Yamaha's classic big single has a genuine heritage & pureness of design that sets it apart from some other 'retro' models. There can be no doubt that the SR400 is the real thing, and with an authentic engine and chassis specification and original kick start mechanism, this charismatic twin-shock thumper is aimed at the many riders who are looking to rediscover the soul of motorcycling. YAMAHA SR400 (2014-2018)

Owners' Rating 5 out of 5 View full owners' ratings

MCN overall review verdict: When launched, the Yamaha SR400 could really have done with the original’s extra 100cc or 8-10bhp more; for anyone over 5ft 10in it’s too cute to be cool and, at £5200 I can’t help feeling it was a bit rich, too. After all, the SR had no more moving parts than the YBR125 and yet its development costs were surely wiped out an ice age ago. So why did it cost £2350 more? If they made the SR nearer £4K, gave it the old 500 barrel and reintroduced the larger, cooler XT trailie version and I’d have been down my local Yam dealer before you could say ‘thumper’.
