MCN Fleet: LED headlamp a clear winner for NC750X

While the NC750X only got minimal upgrades from Honda for 2016, including an extra litre of storage in the tank compartment, a re-designed muffler and a slightly taller screen, it’s easy to underestimate just how useful such updates are until you spend a decent amount of time with the bike.

One of these minimal upgrades was the introduction of LED head and tail lights. A simple, unassuming change that I hadn’t really noticed the benefit of until the winter months and much more riding in the dark came along.

When riding alone on a dark, unlit road with no other vehicles around, you really realise just how well the LEDs light the way ahead. It’s a much crisper, clearer lighting and lights further into the distance than bikes I’ve ridden with conventional bulb headlamps.

You’ve also got to think that the brighter, more solid light from the LEDs also helps in making you more visible to other road users too, which can only be a plus!

On top of the LEDs both helping you see more clearly and be seen in the dark, the clear white light looks much cooler than the yellowed glow of a standard bulb.
