MCN Fleet: Can the Husqvarna's flame be reignited?

1 of 1

Thu Husqvarna has sat in the lock ups at the MCN office for the last week as I eloped to the south of France on a Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Normally, when it comes to long term test bikes, there’s a small sense of excitement whenever you return after a few days on a different bike, but so far that excitement hasn’t arrived. The Husqvarna isn’t a bad bike – far from it – it can bring the widest smile across my face when used as intended, but I’ve been using the 701 as my everyday transport for most of the year, and it’s just not refined enough for that.

The temperature dropping and the complete lack of any weather protection will no doubt make my relationship with the Husky even frostier (pun intended), but for now I’m going to try and enjoy the Husky’s assets – namely that stonking single-cylinder engine – which will no doubt have me laughing every time I open the throttle for the next few days.
