MCN Fleet: The Eva has landed

The 100% electric Italian streetfighter arrives at MCN HQ ready for a summer of AC/DC fun

MCN has joined the electric revolution by spending the summer months with the stunning Energica Eva naked bike.

The £27,999 Eva arrived from the Italian factory, via UK importers Moto Corsa, this morning – and we’re now just putting it on charge in readiness for our first proper ride tomorrow.

MCN FLEET INCOMING

It’s the world’s first 100% electric streetfighter and is dripping in gorgeous cycle parts like Brembo monobloc calipers, Bitubo shock, Marzocchi fork, and sexy OZ Racing wheels. Its full-colour dash also allows you to toggle through all the features you’d expect from a regular supernaked – such as Bosch switchable ABS, drive-mode selection, engine braking control, and Bluetooth connectivity. In fact, it’s so much like a regular bike that you easily forget that it’s powered by a 70kW (95hp) AC electric motor.

We’ve just given it a full charge via a three-pin plug that plugs in to a traditional, domestic power socket (but the Eva also has a rapid charge port to allow a full charge in 40 mins at a service station or supermarket), and the range is currently showing a 123 mile potential.

Over the next few months, we’ll be spending plenty of time with the Eva and putting Energica’s claims for it to the test, in order to let you guys know just what it’s like to live with one of the highest tech electric motorcycles you can buy.
