MCN Fleet: GSX-R1000R gets a short back and sides

When Suzuki had the finished GSX-R1000R sketch sat proudly on their drawing board it would’ve looked sleek with no ugly number plate holder, lumpy exhaust can or ghastly Euro4 reflectors. So I’ve given my bike a short back and sides to restore it to its intended glory. 

The standard end can and Raleigh Chopper reflectors are long gone and I’ve fitted an R&G tail tidy (£104.99) to smarten-up the back end. It’s a time-consuming process and the grainy black and white instructional pictures aren’t much use, but it’s easy to fit in the end and the unit is sturdy and well finished.

And for all the trackdays I’m doing this sumer, I’ve also fitted some if GB Racing’s elegant, but bomb-proof engine protectors (£185.10), just in case…
