MCN Fleet: New tail tidy for the RS

1 of 9

The time has finally arrived to start swapping a few bits and adding accessories on the Street Triple RS. I’ve gone for the common mods most will do when they purchase a new bike including the Arrow exhaust that I’ve already fitted, engine covers, frame protectors, tank pad and this tail tidy.

Out of the box it looks like a quality piece of kit. Beautifully finished and made to a high standard from CNC machined and forged 6061-T6 Aluminium, but much to my suprise there were no fitting instructions in the box. Fortunately there is a website you can find these at. http://www.triumphinstructions.com. Simply put your part number in and up come the instructions. Fitting time is said to be 30mins, although from my experience I’d allow yourself an hour once you’ve spent 10 minutes looking for the tools and fiddling around routing the cables down the new tail tidy. Fortunately for me I summoned the help of MCN how to expert Bruce to fit it as I took pictures.

Priced at £111 it’s not the cheapest, but the quality and rigidity of it definitely helps justify the hit on your bank balance. Other competitors such as www.evotech-performance.com do make stubbier ones that perhaps look neater, although the genuine triumph one doesn’t bother me aesthetically at all. I’ll see how it holds up through the winter.
