AGV Pista Valentino Rossi lids you can buy (at a cost)

AGV have produced a special design of their premium Pista GP R helmet, celebrating 20 years since Valentino Rossi’s first world title in the 125cc class in 1997. Available in sizes XS-XXL, production is limited to 2500 lids and will be available from February 2018 for £999.99 (yes, £999.99!). 

Back in May AGV released a limited edition Pista GP-R featuring the winter test paint scheme used by Rossi during the Sepang pre-season test earlier this year. The winter test helmet depicts his home town of Tavullia in a snow scene.

The Pista GP-R is AGV’s top of the range helmet, and the Italian firm also stated it’s the most protective helmet ever developed. The shell is constructed from 100% carbon fibre with five densities of EPS structure in four different shell sizes. The shape of the shell itself has been designed to maximise aerodynamic performance while at the same time minimise the risk of impact energy being channeled to the collar bone.

The Pista GP-R also comes with MotoGP-developed metal air vents and a wind tunnel tested rear spoiler that features multiple wings for added stability at high speed. Internal channels have also been engineered into the helmet for easy use with a hydration system

All this technology comes at a price. The standard Pista GP-R costs £899.99, while this winter test addition will set you back £1100.
