How can I solve riding pain?

1 of 1

Q. I’m a female pensioner who has taken up biking again in the last couple of years after a long absence.

I live in Spain and it’s great for biking, but I have one problem. I’m pretty heavy and after an hour’s riding my tailbone starts to hurt, and for the rest of the trip, despite breaks, it continues to hurt.

Yes I can try and lose some weight, but I’d also appreciate advice on how I can improve the comfort on my little YBR125.

A. Invest in an Airhawk seat pad. They are a bit expensive, but well worth the money.

Mark Holmes here swears by his. You can set the air pressure to suit your weight and spread the pressure across your backside. Bykebitz (www.bykebitz.co.uk) import them in the UK.
