Jacket review: Aerostich Falstaff

What’s good? The closest you can come to putting on your favourite slippers, this jacket immediately feels that you have owned it for years (but without the smell).

I’m personally a fan of waxed cotton as it’s so breathable, extremely flexible, and thus very comfortable.

It has a full cotton lining and soft collar, which is just the right height to stop the rain gong down your neck. I have been using the jacket all year round, wind rain and shine, with the vents open in the summer it’s nice and cool, especially being all cotton.

In winter it’s warm enough until there is a frost on the ground, I then add the Aerostich Darien Wind Blocker Fleece Liner, which poppers into the sleeves and takes the edge off nicely. As far as rain goes its not made it through yet.

If you like a jacket with pockets, then this is the one for you, plenty of space for all the odds and sods you acquire over the years as a motorcyclist. It comes equipped with TF3 armour, which is very unobtrusive.

And in classic Aerostich style, there are the usual Scotchlite reflective panels that can be seen for miles at night.

What’s not? Something may crop up, but nothing at the moment.
