What the parts will cost you

1 of 1

It’s difficult to justify forking out the price of a three-bedroomed semi in Accrington for a road bike, let alone a machine you’d have trouble using outside a track and which is destined to see action for only a few days a year.

The missus and/or kids probably won’t see things from quite the same perspective if you informed them they were going to have to forgo foreign holidays/ice creams/dinner for the foreseeable future just so you could get your thrills around the race track.

But you don’t have to go the whole hog. You can sneak the cost past your nearest and dearest by buying parts separately over time, like a high-end hi-fi, turning your GSX-R into a demon rack day bike by stealth. Follow the links on the right for a guide to what you’ll pay for the parts on the bikes tested here.
