How to win with Fantasy Road Racing

1 of 1

If you want a bit of help choosing your MCN Fantasy Road Racing team, David Kitchen is the bloke to ask. He’s just collected his Aprilia RS250 from Jeremy McWilliams, his prize for coming top in our competition.

Kitchen, 41, from Northamptonshire, also received a signed McWilliams lid in the presentation at Birmingham’s NEC Show. Find more NEC Show coverage by following the link, right.

Kitchen said: “Other people’s misfortune was my good luck. The decisive weekend was when Steve Hislop crashed at Rockingham because I had John Reynolds. And on the same day Troy Bayliss crashed at Imola and I had Ben Bostrom and Ruben Xaus. I’m delighted to have won.”

Kitchen adds the Aprilia RS250 to add to his two other bikes, a Ducati 900SS and ST4S.

More than 5200 people entered the 2001 Fantasy Road Racing Competition. And if you wanted to tip one person for success in the 2002 contest, your best bet would be Philip Morley, from Leicestershire. Morley was third in the 2000 competition and second this time around. Surely it’s only a matter of time…

The top ten were: 1. David Kitchen, 2. Philip Morley, 3 Melvin Porter, 4. Alex Lowe, 5. Peter Farman, 6. Steve Brace, 7. David Kitchen, 8. Malcolm Edwards, 9. Kelvin Burdett, 10. Chris Emery.
