Barry Sheene diagnosed with cancer

Barry Sheene has been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus and stomach it has been announced.

Although tired, the two times world 500cc champion is in reasonable spirits. He told MCN this morning: ” This is a total pain in the arse, but I’m going to deal with it. ”

Barry, who is staying at his home on Australia’s Gold Coast, politely requests that no-one contact him at this time.
