Join the GP Golden Age Revival

1 of 1

There’s a unique opportunity to relive the ” Golden Age ” this September when former 500cc world champions Freddie Spencer and Wayne Gardner clash in the Goodwood Revival’s Lennox Cup classic race this September.

Gardner, who won the world title in 1987 and double champion (1983,1985) Spencer will be joined by some bloke called Barry Sheene (1976,1977), and six-times world champion Jim Redman who’ll be there fighting for glory alongside Britain’s top classic racer Mick Hemmings.

And there is a raft of exotic machinery at their disposal. Spencer will line up on a 1957 MV 500/4, Redman on a G50 Matchless, Sheene on a Norton Manx 500 and Gardner on another Matchless.

Aside from the racing (the first time Spencer and Gardner have met on Tarmac since Spencer’s retirement in 1988), there’ll be millions of pounds worth of automotive history at the Revival alongside stars of the very best of two and four-wheeled motorsport.

And if the fog of nostalgia doesn’t wring a tear from your eye, then you need to see a doctor.

The revival runs from September 6-8.For more details, and to book your tickets on-line in advance visit: www.goodwood.co.uk or call 01243-755055.

On the day prices start from £20 for Friday, £30 for Saturday and £40 for Sunday.
