Can’t get quoted on R1 cover? Now you can

1 of 1

YAMAHA has responded to the biggest problem currently facing would-be superbike buyers – finding an insurer who’ll offer cover at all, let alone at a fair price or on reasonable terms.

A new scheme for buyers of remaining 2001-model R1s will offer cover from £195 TPFT or £325 Comprehensive WITHOUT the now-usual requirement to prove a long no claims record. Even riders with zero years NCB can apply.

In addition, cover is being offered to riders as young as 21 and in all UK postcode areas (excluding Northern Ireland). Payments can even be made by instalments – 25% deposit and 10 equal monthly payments.

There are conditions, of course, the main ones being: Only bikes bought from official dealers qualify; Your R1 must be kept in a secure locked building at your home address and be Datatagged; One minor conviction is allowed.

As with any policy, the final premium will depend on factors such as age, previous accidents / losses, and the ” risk level ” of your profession.

The scheme runs until May 1 and does NOT cover the 2002-model R1. Quotes can ONLY be obtained through official Yamaha dealers.
