Search for Britain’s most bike-friendly company

1 of 1

The hunt is on for the bike-friendliest firm in Britain, and the least. Make your nominations now.

The MCIA is offering a free bike park to the firm which gets the highest number of employees to arrive by bike on Ride To Work Day, June 14, this year. More than 2100 companies have been invited to take part.

But in the meantime, let’s hear your nominations for the most (and least) bike friendly company premises you know. Post on our TALK NEWS board in DISCUSSION & CHAT (follow the link, right).

elmer fud said he wouldn’t reveal where he worked but: ” the other shift manager and myself make our own rules up. We cleared a nice cosy spot in the workshop, nobody has a problem with it. smug! ”

dredd, who works for Hampshire Council, said: ” Here the bikers have a few spaces in the car park which is right outside the door, but generally they just let us in and leave the bikes anywhere. Covered and there’s a security guard on the entrance.

” Pretty good really. One of the reasons I bought a bike is that parking in Winchester is crap. ”

Ride to Work day is run by the Motorcycle Industry Association to encourage as many people as possible on to two wheels on one specific day, to show the impact greater bike use could have on traffic congestion. You don’t have to be part of a company organised ride-in to take part.

If your company fancies bagging a bike park, they can register by calling Tracey King or Anna Rogers on 0870-330-7820.
