Central London was brought to a standstill on Saturday when around 300 riders staged a protest about the Government’s attitude to motorcycling.

The protest was organised without MAG or BMF intervention and was simply the brainchild of rider Chris Coleman who wanted to see action after Environment Minister Michael Meacher’s anti-bike letter to chief constables (see link, right for previous stories).

Police praised the excellent behaviour of the peaceful Go-Slow protest.

Coleman handed in a letter of protest at Westminster and was promised a reply from Meacher to clarify his position on bikes.
