It’s been a long time coming, but plans are now under way to shoot a sequel to the all-time classic bike movie Easy Rider.

Variety, the U.S. entertainment magazine, says that Easy Rider AD will star Peter Fonda reprising his role of Wyatt ” Captain America ” Earp, despite apparently being shot dead at the end of the 1969 original alongside Dennis Hopper’s character Billy.

The new movie, produced by Lauren Lloyd (Freddy Got Fingered) and written by Sean Jacques has Fonda’s character in prison for the murder of George Hanson, played in the first movie by Jack Nicholson.

The budget for the movie is around £18million and shooting will begin in Spring 2003.
