Boon star dies at 56

Michael Elphick, the actor who starred in ITV’s ” Boon ” as the loveable bike courier-cum-private eye has died, aged just 56.

Elphick, who had long battled against alcoholism, collapsed at home on Saturday morning and died later in hospital.

His former Boon co-star Neil Morrissey paid tribute to him, saying: ” Michael has been a great friend and mentor over the years, he’s one of the best actors this country has produced. ”
