Goodwood renames race in Sheene’s memory

1 of 1

The organisers of the Goodwood Revival meeting intend to rename the Lennox Cup classic motorcycle race in memory of Barry Sheene.

The race will be known as the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy and organisers hope to be able to persuade a number of Barry’s friends and former rivals to take part in this year’s race in his memory.

Sheene was a regular at the event racing on a 500cc Manx Norton and has won it for the last three years running beating Wayne Gardner last year by just 0.156 seconds.

This year’s Goodwood Revival meeting will take place on September 5-7.
