North Yorkshire Road Racing Supporters Club is holding a charity night on March 18 in memory of racer and road testerRonnie Smith, who died in January this year.

The main focus of the evening will be a celebrity chat show featuring the likes of Jamie Witham, Steve Platter, David Jeffries, and John McGuinness, among others.

A number of other racers and teams have also contributed a load of kit including sets of leathers, race and team clothing, boots, and helmets, as well as signed prints and posters, which will all be auctioned off.

As well as being a road tester for Performance Bikes magazine, Ronnie was a popular racer, well liked member of the club, and famous as much for his Magic Roundabout FM lid as he was for against-the-odds race results.

Money raised will go to partner Jane and their two children.

There will also be a raffle and late opening for the bar.

The bash is being held at Club Amadeus in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Doors open at 8pm and entry will cost you £2.50. For more information call 01904-339647.
