New tyres for 2004 superbikes

1 of 1

Michelin and Bridgestone have both launched new tyres for 2004.

Michelin has brought in the Pilot Power to replace the ageing Pilot Sport and Yamaha will be fitting the new tyre as standard to its 2004 R1. Bridgestone’s new BT-014 will come on the Suzuki GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, Honda Fireblade, and Kawasaki’s ZX-10R.

The BT014 replaces the BT010 and offers a stiffer construction and an inner layer designed for better shock absorption.

Bridgestone also launched its track focused BT002 supersport tyre building on the success of the BT001 race tyre.

We’ll let you know what we think of these tyres when we test them on the new generation of superbikes this autumn and winter.
