Bike accident hotspots - full list

1 of 1

A survey of motorcycle insurance claims shows if you want to avoid accidents you should stay out of London.

The study, conducted by insurance broker CaroleNash on its 230,000 policyholders, was used to find the most accident prone areas in the UK. And unsurprisingly the capital came top. London and surrounding regions fill the top 10 most dangerous places to ride.

North London took first place on the list with one in 10 riders in the area having a prang in the last year. But surprisingly areas, such as Wales, where police are targeting ‘dangerous’ weekend riders, are conspicuous by their absence from the top of the list.

The research also shows two out of three motorcycle accident claims were actually the fault of a car driver and not the motorcyclist.

See below for Carole Nash’s full league table of accident hotspots by postcode.
