Fire guts London dealer

1 of 1

More than 400 bikes have been destroyed by a fire at motorcycle dealer Rex Judd of Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware, north London.

The fire started in the showroom and is estimated to have caused more than £2 million of damage, destroying half the showroom, the second floor offices and the training school attached to the shop.

Among the bikes destroyed in the fire was a Yamaha R7 along with 20 Yamaha R1s, two Bimotas and several Ducatis.

The fire caused severe damage to the building and it is expected to take as long as nine months for repairs to be completed.

The firm will continue to trade out of the undamaged section of the building. And the service department is open as usual. No customers’ bikes were damaged and the training school will continue to run at another location.

The cause of the blaze is currently unknown but the police and fire service are investigating.
