Camera vans at Barton

1 of 1

Police have resorted to using hidden speed cameras to catch bikers on the way to next week’s Barton Bike Meet.

In response to criticism that not enough was done about speeding at last year’s event, police have said that four camera vans will be operating on roads leading to Barton, just south of the Humber bridge, – some will be in high visibility livery but some will be hidden from view.

The event, which takes over the whole of Barton town centre, takes place on Wednesday July 7 from 6pm and last year attracted over 15,000 bikers.

This year Hawk Kawasaki riders Glen Richards, Scott Smart and John McGuinness will be in attendance along with Virgin Yamaha rider Steve Plater and the Yamaha tour truck.
