NEC flies into action

The NEC motorcycle show has kicked off in style in Birmingham and the show is packed to the rafters with all the latest new metal, the biggest names in racing and as many babes as you can feast your eyes on.

Dougie Lampkin opened the show with a bang by wheelying his trials bike through an NEC baner held by Olympic rowers and Yamaha bike riders Matthew Pinsent and James Cracknal.

Suzuki has got the new GSX-R1000 on show with a new matt and gloss paint scheme to sit alongside the traditional blue and white.

They also unveiled a new version of the 20th Anniversary GSX-R750 launched earlier this month with little changes, such as a new black exhaust can, that make it even more special.

Malaguti launched a whole range of adventurous new bikes from the mad 50cc naked Drakon to the huge SpiderMax 500 maxi scooter.

Honda is showing off the new CBR600RR with Suzi Perry taking to the stand to give the bike its UK launch. Also on show were the Repsol replicas of the Fireblade and CBR125R, which the firm promised would be in the UK by the end of the year.

Honda had put together a modified version of its new FMX650 Funmoto to show off what can be done with the accessories on offer for the Supermoto style bike.

The are also some very trick specials around with an impressively unusual streetfightered GSXR400 catching a lot of looks as well as a mad custom cruiser.
