Suzi Perry and Randy Mamola helped MCN and the biking industry raise more than £18,000 for Riders for Health.

That’s the final total raised during a charity auction at the star-studded MCN Awards night last November.

BBC presenter Suzi and ex-GP rider Mamola hosted the event, auctioning off lots donated by Valentino Rossi, James Toseland and dozens of other contributors.

Riders for Health chief executive Andrea Coleman said: “This contribution will help Riders for Health ensure that motorcyclists save and improve lives, reaching people in need of vital health care in rural Africa.”

The total was boosted by a cash donation from MCN for every ticket sold, plus individual donations from the industry during the evening.

MCN editor Marc Potter added: “We would like to thank everyone who contributed in raising this money. Riders would not be making the impact they are in Africa without such passionate support from everyone within the industry.”
