New York cops have busted a 16-strong bike theft gang who stole hundreds of bikes to sell their engines to “dwarf racing” enthusiasts.

The engines were sold on the internet to drivers of the small cars in the Midwest and California.

The investigation tapped phones to track the thieves and officers went undercover to infiltrate the ring. The stolen bikes are said to be worth millions of dollars.

The 16 gang members, who included a New York firefighter, now face trial.
