Anti-breast cancer ride

1 of 1

Around 20 biking women affected by breast cancer have joined together for a London to Edinburgh fundraising ride.

The August 20-27 event represents the UK leg of the Changing Gears Global Challenge with all funds raised from the UK going to the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care. It raises money specifically to fund information and support for younger women with breast cancer.

The event started off in the US last year but is now going global.

One of those taking part, Jacqui Firth, said: “The majority of th riders are themselves breast cancer survivors with the remaing few places beign taken by girls like myself – who are just in it for the craic!”

“Warr’s Harley-Davidson are providing some loan bikes for the ride and we hope to raise around £60,000 on the UK leg.”

motorcyclenews.com will follow their progress.
