Speed traps on TT trips

1 of 1

If you’re travelling to the Isle of Man TT races by bike and ferry, be aware that Merseyside police has launched a speeding clampdown during May.

The campaign is not targetted specifically at motorcyclists en route to the TT, but forms part of a series of six-week campaigns on anti-social behaviour. Today, Thursday June 2, 2005, sees the start of a clampdown on all anti-social and nuisance vehicles, including speeders, illegal off-roaders and reckless driving.

Speed cameras are already in place on certain routes and will be added to by units using hand-held radar and laser speed guns. There will also be increased patrols to deal with the influx of traffic during the TT period.

So if you’re on the way to the TT keep your speed down and make sure your road tax is up to date and your bike is legal to ensure you don’t get stopped.
