The annual national BikeSafe event takes place this weekend, April 2-3 at Cheltenham Racecourse, and entry is totally free.

The even is organised by Gloucestershire Constabulary with sponsorship from Cheltenham Motorcycles, and aims to mix fun and entertainment with an attempt to try and reduce the number of bike casualites in Britain.

One of the main draws is the offer of free expert tuition from some of the UK’s top instructors, including over 60 police motorcyclsists and trainers from large manufacturers. So make sure you take your licence to take advantage of the offer.

Attractions include appearances by British Superbike stars Michael Rutter, Karl Harris and Ryuichi Kiyonari, a Honda mini motorbike track and a vintage motorcycle display. Plus, you can win prizes including prizes ranging from a Hein Gericke suit, boots or gloves, or VIP Crescent Suzuki tickets

Manufacturers with stands at the event include Suzuki, Honda, Yamah, Kawasaki, Triumph, Ducati, BMW and Harley-Davidson.

“It will be an enjoyable event for all the family with lots to keep the children occupied,” said Inspector Paul Morrissey. “There is also a serious side because we will be holding assessed ride outs to educate on rider safety and skill.”
